The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) is considering an accreditation program for employers with successful health and safety programs.
Unlike CAD-7 or MAP Experience Rating (which is based strictly on WSIB claims experience), accreditation would be based on whether a company's health and safety program meets certain standards.
The WSIB is seeking input on several aspects of accreditation before proceeding with a detailed proposal later in 2007. |
 |
| WSIB's Consultation Paper |
 |
The WSIB's Accreditation Consultation Paper presents the general objectives, concepts, guiding principles and proposed
elements of an accreditation program for Ontario workplaces. It outlines issues and options to be
considered in designing an accreditation program, and proposes a development process and model. |
| CSAO's Discussion Paper |
 |
The Accreditation Discussion Paper provides some background information on accreditation plus, where appropriate, some suggestions from us. Suggestions are based on prior discussions with various construction groups and the experiences of the construction safety associations in other provinces. |
